“Rain, rain go away I want to see West Indies and India play…” that was me singing for the rains to disappear. There wasn’t much to see in the 1st first match since the rains were in total control. With heavy rains and a wet outfield the match officials saw that there was no return and the match ended in a no result.
At the toss the West Indies won and captain Jason Holder decided to have a bowl first. Opening the batting for the Indians were Ajinkya Rahane and Shikhar Dhawan, what a wonderful start they had. These two had a tremendous opening partnership punishing the West Indian bowlers. Rahane and Dhawan had an opening stand of 132 runs before Alzarri Joseph broke the partnership. He got the wicket of Rahane who perished on 62 (8 4s), after he skied one landing in the hands of Jason Holder. Dhawan continued to build the innings with captain Kohli striking the ball gracefully. Partnership between the two only lasted 32 runs, when Dhawan departed on 87 runs including 8 4s and 2 6s.

There wasn’t anything much to see after this point as the rains came and took control The Indians ended on 199-3 (39.2 overs). Hoping for great weather on Sunday to have a full match played.
